Myrtle Beach, SC — Round No. 2 of the Championship Series is in the books, and Gary St. Amant, who has been ranked No. 1 since the second race of the season, now finds himself looking up at Bobby Gill.

Gill, a 3-time Pro Cup champ, moved 29 points ahead of St. Amant with a sixth-place run at Iowa Speedway. St. Amant was taken out late in the race and finished 24th.

Matt Carter made the most gains at Iowa, jumping to third, 53 points behind Gill.

There are just three races left to decide the overall Hooters Pro Cup Champion, Miller Lite Rookie of the Year and the recipients of over $1,000,000 in purse and point funds.

Below is the top 20 in Championship Series points, an Iowa Review and a Myrtle Beach Preview.

Iowa Review
Benny Gordon suffered a rare mechanical failure at Iowa Speedway. For just the second time in four years, his Predator Performance powerplant broke early in the event and forced him behind the wall in 35th-place.

Myrtle Beach Preview
Gordon’s mastery of Myrtle Beach Speedway has been challenged in recent years, but he feels like that will change this weekend. It better, or Gordon might slip out of contention for his second title.

Best Finish at Myrtle Beach: 1st (10/18/03, 6/26/04, 10/23/04&10/22/05)
